Visa services for Dominican/Haitian and Foreign Nationals
The Embassy of India in Santo Domingo has adopted the online visa issuance system with effect from 17 June 2023. All Dominican, Haitian and foreign nationals wishing to take a visa to India must log into https://indianvisaonline.gov.in to fill up the online application form. Please note that for a regular visa, a printed application form must be submitted at the Embassy personally along with documents and fee.
The Embassy also reiterates that while this service has commenced, the e-visa service continues to be available for nationals of the Dominican Republic and Haiti. E-visa can be applied at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html.
Steps to fill the Visa application:

2. Click- Regular Visa Application
3. Follow the step by step procedure and fill in all data fields.
4. ‘PHOTO UPLOAD’
5. Verify all the entries, Click- Verified & Continue
6. Submit
7. Take a print out and submit the hard copy with two passport photos with all necessary supporting documents including proof of fee paid and submit the application personally at the Embassy during Consular Service hours from Monday to Friday 9:00 to 12:00 hrs.
8. Applicants older than 70 years of age do not require provide their fingerprints

General Information
1) Passport must be valid for more than six months before applying for any type of visa.
2) Validity of all visas is counted from the date of issue.
3) If the visa is for more than 180 days, registration is compulsory within 14 days of first arrival in India.
4) All categories of applicants are advised to observe their stay in India as per validity of their visas; overstay could invite legal action and non-issuance of visa in future by any Indian Mission abroad.
5) Once the online application form has been submitted by the applicant, further modifications are not permitted. Hence, applicants are requested to double check the details before submitting the online application.

Note :

- Visa fee once paid is not refunded even if the application is withdrawn or visa is not granted.
-The Embassy reserves to itself the right to decide on the type and duration of the visa granted.

*The applicants are required to ensure that the payment is made in the appropriate accounts as indicated above. Interchangeability of fee once paid is not allowed and the same is non-refundable.
Types of Visas
Tourist visa
Tourist visa is issued to applicants traveling to India for tourism. Applicants need to submit two colored photos, ID Card/Profession proof, a copy of the return air ticket/reservation, proof of financial solvency, along with the duly filled in online application form.
IMPORTANT NOTE The consular officer may request additional documentation as considered at the time of the interview. Expat applicants may apply for a tourist visa only if they have lived in Dominican Republic or Haiti for at least two years. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Business Visa
Issued to those traveling to India for business purposes. The requirements are:
(a) Duly filled in application form
(b) Two Colour photographs
(c) Invitation letter from the Indian company / agent which provides details of activities, products, services and also details of businesses in India & Contacts of Indian companies/organizations to be visited.
d) A letter of the company that provides the details of its activities, products and services, the details of proposed businesses in India and contacts of the Indian companies and organizations to be visited.
e) Hotel booking where you will be staying in India. If the applicant is staying with an Indian host, a letter of invitation from the host is required along with a copy of their passport or valid address proof.

Student Visa
Is issued for the duration of the course for those who obtain admission in regular academic courses at educational institutions duly recognized by a Statutory regulatory body in India. The students should submit proof of admission from an educational institution recognized by the Government of India and proof of financial guarantee (bank solvency/bank statement) for meeting the expenses in India

Conference Visa
Issued for attending international conferences/seminars/meetings in India. A letter of invitation from the organizer of the conference is to be submitted along with the visa application. A ‘No Objection’ certificate issued by MHA and letter of clearance issued by MEA addressed to the organizers shall also need to be endorsed.

Medical Visa
Issued to a foreigner seeking medical treatment in India in established or recognised or specialized hospitals. The visa can be single or multiple entries.
Validity of medical visa is for up to one year or duration of the treatment, whichever is less. It can further be extended up to one year on recommendation from an established / recognized hospital. Applicant should submit the medical documents establishing the need for and the bonafides (letter from hospital on its letterhead) of taking medical treatment in India.
Bank statements with sufficient balance to cover for the cost of treatment and expenditures during the period of stay in India.
An applicant who wishes to visit India on Medical Visa can take attendants who would be granted Medical Attendant Visa coterminous with ‘Medical Visa’ of the patient.

Employment Visa
Employment Visa is granted to foreigners desiring to come to India for purpose of employment, subject to following conditions:
(i) The applicant is a skilled and qualified professional or person who is being engaged or appointed by a company, organization, industry, or undertaking, etc. in India on contract or employment basis at a senior level, skilled position such as technical expert, senior executive, or in a managerial position, etc.
(ii) A foreign national will have to comply with all other requirements like payment of tax liabilities, etc. Eligibility for Employment Visa.
(iii) The foreign national must submit proof of his/her employment or contract or engagement by the company/organization, etc. in India.
(iv) The foreign national must submit documentary proof of his educational qualifications and professional expertise.
